This holiday season is going to be different. The really is no option but to change the way we do it.
Here in the store customers have already begun their gift shopping. There does seem to be a change in the thought process. And we believe it is for the better.
Customers are shopping local stores in their area, with a little less on line shopping. Local shops are the heart of your community. They provide you with unique ideas and gift items.
So this year we are asking you to do the following:
Slow down, and shop your local boutiques. Take a day to browse your shops and see what is being offered. You might just be surprised at what you will find.
Put some extra thought in the the gift you are buying and who you are buying it for. Gift cards are nice, but too easy give with very little thought. Save those for your out of area people. Buy the gift that you think someone will really appreciate. Doesn’t have to be big, but something you know that person wants, needs and just can’t do without. Make it a purposeful gift.
Wrap your gifts in usable packaging, like tea towels or a throw blanket. They don’t have to be expensive, just pretty.
Most of all, stop stressing about the upcoming season. It is going to happen no matter what. Make the most it. Our groups may be smaller and more intimate, but that gives us more time to enjoy who we have in our lives.
The hustle and bustle of the season can be overwhelming for some. So maybe it’s a good thing that things this year are different.
